I have decided, based on my sunburned, impromptu weekend trip to Vegas, to start a new category on Get LiT, called “Light it Up”. It will not be a weekly like Fashion Friday, but stay tuned, you may find something that inspires you regardless.
The lighting worth talking about today is at Mix, the restaurant on top of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The food is pretty good (I highly recommend the Tuna Tartar), but ambiance, view and lighting AMAZING!
All the upholstry is in done in white leather and the restaurant's focal point is a $500,000 hand-blow, Murano glass chandelier made up of 15,000 glass spheres, reminscent of the bubbles found in a glass of champagne. As you probably guessed, it is the largest chandelier in the world. This ground breaking art piece is the brain child of French born artist Patrick Jouin.
