Head, shoulders, knees and bulbs?

Let’s play a little doctor, shall we, and dissect the inner workings of a lamp. Feel free to hum “Head, shoulders, knees and Toes,” as you read.

The lamp base is connected to the harp saddle, the harp saddle is connected to the socket, the socket is connected to the light bulb, the bulb is surrounded by the harp, the harp is connected (actually it supports) the LiTshade and the finial holds everything together.

Now you know a little bit more then you did before about the inner workings off a lamp, now go out and education. Remember, "there is much pleasure to be gained by useless knowledge."
-Bertrand Russell
